1. Use social media to your advantage.

In this day and age of new media, people are using their smart phones more and more. Surfing social media like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc. Taking photos of their food before consuming them is part of an everyday norm. The next time you're on the train, take a look at the people around you. They are looking at their smart phones more than focusing on things around them.

Create social media accounts to connect with your consumers and clients. Provide content that keeps them intrigued and interested. Posting contests and competitions are one way of increasing your viewer count. Consistency is key to create a base of followers.

Unless you have a large budget and plan on creating a campaign, stop paying for advertisements on the newspapers, bus and train and mailers. Chances are, people would probably shrug it off. Even if they are interested, people of this day would consider typing in your website link manually a hassle.

2. Campaigns works wonders.

Creating a set of consistent advertising works wonders. Why? After repetitive ads after ads of the same concepts, people would unknowingly put your message somewhere in the back of their minds. That's why you find yourself humming a tune of this catchy advertisement and remember that they serve really good burgers.

If you have a large marketing budget, campaigns might be the best way to gain exposure and bring in more consumers and clients for your business.

In this case, you would want to have your advertisements everywhere. In your newspapers, posters, in bus and trains and on social media. Of course, campaigns does not work by solely relying on exposure and will only work, with a great concept, which brings me to the next point.

3. Interactive / Interesting content

Creating content might be one of the trickiest parts of executing a good advertisement. Thinking out of the box to present the general public what you can do for them would be a daunting task.  In the past, businesses advertise and encourage the consumers to buy their products or services through posting a marketing text or post on their website. People of this age have become lazy in reading and if you will present a lengthy text to them, they may read it for a few minutes and move to another website that offers the same products or services with you.

Interesting content does not come always in a form of text but you can also provide information through a visual presentation. As time goes by, technology will only continue to improve and in order to effectively bring in more business, riding that wave would be the best solution.

New marketing techniques are slowly appearing everywhere, Virtual Reality, 360 degree videos, projection mapping and experiential installations are just some of them.

These new techniques are used to give your audience, a deeper understanding with an interactive platform to engage with your product or services.
