Overview

Semicolon approached us to create an opener for 'Urban System Studies', an event focusing on Singapore's development over the last half-century and the planning for tourism in Singapore.

Project: Urban System Studies
Client: Singapore Tourism Board
Agency: Semicolon
Year: 2015

Concept

The direction given to us was to slide in old maps, like transparent blueprints being laid on top of one another, to form Singapore's mascot, the Merlion. This represents the construction of olden day Singapore into the modern city we now know.

Design and Art Direction

We kept the animation fast paced, and emphasized different portions of the animation to establish location and key visuals to the main concept given. To further emphasize this concept, we implemented hand drawn markings and note-taking into the mix as well.
